Sandbach Voices is a friendly and enthusiastic choir whose roots in Sandbach stretch back to 1947. With a mission to bring choral music alive to the local community and to work with and encourage young people to participate in our performances we have an exciting and varied programme ahead.
In our concerts we sing a varied programme of choral music, ranging from baroque choral music to opera choruses, popular songs and contemorary pieces, working with professional musicians and soloists to give performances of the highest quality. The choir has performed some ambitious choral programmes which have included Orff’’s Carmina Burana, Britten’s Noye’s Fludde and Handel’s Dixit Dominus. Other concerts have included Mozart's Twelfth Mass and Requiem and a sell-out performance of s The Pirates of Penzance
In November 2013 the choir performed Britten's St Nicolas with David Bagnall, tenor, St Nicholas Girl's School, Hartford, The Brayford Orchestra, and trebles from Derby Cathedral Choir, to celebrate the composer's centenary.
Audience feedback from concert: 'Magnificent and moving,' 'Wonderful singing by the choristers and soloists and playing by the orchestra,' 'A night of great music making.'
Choir rehearsals are held in Wheelock Methodist Church Sandbach, Cheshire, CW11 3RT on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 pm until 9.30 pm. New singers will be given a warm welcome. If you have not sung with a choir before, why not come for a few weeks to see how you go on? There is no audition.
